Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada and is American. There are more than 20 albums that have been made available by her. DiFranco categorizes her music as folk-rock and alternative, but it also includes influences like hip-hop, punk and jazz. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement, and was among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a ex-student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were students at the same school. Her father is of Italian ancestry and her mom was a Montreal native. The song by Ani, 32 Flavors, was composed by her, and performed by Ani. The track is available on the sixth album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco that was released in 1996. A variation of the track is included on the film soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013 DiFranco apologised after it was announced that she was hosting a three-day workshop on an old Louisiana plantation for slaves. The event was later cancelled but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco apologized again a few days later. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she has worked with several music genres, that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. Within 14 years, she had begun writing her songs. She performed them at bars and coffee shops throughout her teenage years. DiFranco has graduated at age 16 at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School began to attend classes at Buffalo State College. Ani DiFranco rose to iconic status as a songwriter/singer and punk/folk at the age 25, both among critics and fans, with Not A Pretty Girl.
